Our home is a comfortable 1 bedroom / 1 bathroom apartment with a small patio, spacious kitchen area, and lots of plants! The apartment is situated along the Southside Beltline Trail, the walking/biking loop that circles Atlanta. We appreciate being on the first floor with a tree-filled view which gives a more secluded atmosphere than you might expect for an apartment. There is a pull-out sofa in the living room if you are traveling with kids or need to accommodate another couple of people. 

We love the area we live in! For us it is the perfect balance of being close to the restaurants, bars, and places we enjoy while being tucked away in what feels like a quiet pocket of the city. We are located in the Peoplestown neighborhood of Atlanta, which is just south of the Summer Hill / Grant Park neighborhoods. We have a lovely coffee shop right across the street, and there are a handful of parks close by: DH stanton park is a very quick walk directly next to our apartment building, Grant Park is a 5 min drive or pleasant 20 minute walk, and Chosewood park with tennis and basketball courts is a 5 min drive away. Areas all within 15 minutes of us with so many fun places to explore: Grant Park, Summerhill, Cabbagetown, Reynoldstown, Virginia Highlands, Piedmont park, Sweet Auburn, Old 4th Award, Inman Park, Candler Park, East Atlanta Villian, and West End. We also love being convenient to the airport (18 min drive), the downtown/Capitol area, Georgia State, Tyler Perry Studios (13 min drive), and main highways to get around Atlanta (both I-20 and I-75/I-85 are less than 5 min away). One thing to note is that the section of the Beltline we are on is currently closed for construction - it is being paved and there is work being done during the weekday daytime hours. I am personally very sensitive to noise and this has not been a big annoyance to me but did want to mention this.

Our penthouse apartment  is an old artist atelier transformed into a modern home with a lot of light and open space.

Personally, we absolutely love our neighborhood with access to the beautiful beach walk on Ægissida, best swimming pool (Vesturbæjarlaug), bakery (Braud&co), cafe/bistro  (Kaffi Vest) and grocery (Melabudin) just a few minutes walk away.

Our home is made for enjoying slow mornings with a cup of coffee in the living room, cozying up and watching a movie in the upstairs rumpus room, or cooking a homemade dinner downstairs in the evening and if you’re lucky - admiring the Northern Lights (or sometimes even an active volcano 🌋) from a large skylight upstairs.

We have open stairs to the loft where you can find a second living space (rumpus room) and kids bedroom/playroom. The open stairs could be intimidating for a kids under 3-4 years old, so you’d have to monitor them, if you have small children. Ours go up-and-down with ease, but we totally understand how it may be a bit concerning for some parents. The stairs are visible from the kitchen, dining room and downstairs living room, but just good for you to know this.

We really love our home and without adding too much clutter, we have provided everything one would need for a comfortable “hygge” living.
