I’m new on Kindred. What types of trips should I use Kindred for?

  • I’ve mostly used it for vacations and love booking longer stays (4+ nights) to maximize the value. If you’re looking for a place in a popular city, I highly recommend setting an alert so you can book as soon as new homes become available. I did that and scored an amazing stay in Paris for the Olympics last year!

  • Kindred can be used for all kinds of trips, but it really stands out if you’re looking for a relaxed long-stay to live like a local. I recommend staying at least 3+ nights to feel at home at the new place. This way you can also get a great value for the fees you pay on Kindred.

Also: Kindred is the best resource to do a “trial run” on a city you think you‘d like to move to in the future, since you‘re getting the local experience. Major life hack.

  • I find that if you have set dates, you need to plan your trip more in advance. I suggest setting an alert for certain dates/locations well ahead of time, especially if it’s not a larger city. While it can be great for scheduled getaways, I find it’s also really great for being spontaneous - sometimes I see a beautiful featured home and even if I wasn’t necessarily planning on going to that location or even a trip at all :)
