What do you do with your personal belongings that you DO NOT want touched?

  • I keep a hidden “junk room” (not on my Kindred profile) where I stash all bulky stuff like my dog‘s bed, food, and toys to keep the rest of my place clutter-free. Most guests don't snoop through drawers anyway, so hosts can simply tuck their personal items there.

For valuable things like cash, watches, and jewelry, I bring them to my parent‘ home for safekeeping, just as an added layer of security.

  • I typically store them away in closets, and even when I don’t have the stickers on hand, I trust that the kindred guest won’t be snooping through my closets etc. I also note in my home guide if there are any areas off limits.

  • We stick a post-it note on the drawers and shelves with “Privacy” written on them. It has worked smoothly so far.
