I leave all of my personal belongings out minus a few select things - jewelry, skincare, perfumes, and shampoo/conditioner. This is more of a personal thing than anything else. I have an irrational fear of someone using my skincare products, but this is mostly due to them being really expensive. I leave liquor, wine, and food fully out with a trust factor and request that guests not use liquor.
I print “keep calm and please don’t touch” signs and also lock off two walk in closets I have in my house.
I‘ve always left all my things out including personal items, books, art, etc. Never had an issue at any of the stays!
I leave all my objects out while being careful about tidying up. I believe in the organized mess of my house as a value which other Kindred spirits can enjoy: our objects are part of our life and our identity, and sharing part of them with the Kindred community it’s one of the differences between Kindred and other platforms as Airbnb where instead everything has become much more impersonal and aseptic.
