First timer here! Can someone who has hosted before walk me through exactly what to expect?

  • Kindred makes it super easy to host! I've hosted almost 100 nights and never had issues with anything so far. Kindred takes care of my cleaning, the check-in and check-out is super smooth, and the home insurance of up to $100,000 gives me peace of mind in case there are any damages or anything goes missing (which has not happened in all the nights I have hosted so far). For somebody who generally loves hosting, I have become friends with some of my guests. It is a great opportunity to get to know your guests and help them have a great time in your neighborhood!

    Kindred is a tight, like-minded community :)

  • Kindred has your back as a host. They will send you all the essentials: linens, towels, toiletries and a lockbox. They will also set up a cleaner to get your place ready or you can use your own and get reimbursed.

You will need to tidy your place, put away anything you don’t want guests to use or access, put a kindred sticker on the drawers or closets that are private. And finally fill out the instructions for your guest through the kindred app with information about how to access your place, lock box code, wifi and any particulars about your home, appliances, plants, pets etc.

  • Congrats on your first!

    Here's what you can expect

    • Kindred will send you the guest linens & toiletries

    • Kindred will co-ordinate with you regarding check-in & check-out cleaning

    • Kindred will ask you to provide check-in instructions & house rules within the app

The process is well organized by Kindred and they’ll also appoint a concierge between you & the guest to make sure everything goes smoothly.

  • There are also a couple ways to allow guests to get your keys if you don’t have one of those modern code locks:

    • Kindred can send a free lockbox

    • Kindred works with some partners such as Keynest in Paris to leave the keys at a nearby trusted shop (there's a password so everything is very safe)

In terms of your personal items, you don’t have to empty your closets or worry about locking things up: only make sure you use the “Privacy please” stickers on doors you don't want guests to open, and explain in your home guide what you allow guests to use or not, but I've found that everyone was always very respectful.
