Howdy and welcome to my home in the heart of Austin! Minutes from Downtown, SoCo, Zilker Park, and Barton Springs.

The main level has high ceilings with open living area to dining with a spacious gourmet kitchen. A large waterfall island opens to living area and provides
additional seating at the breakfast bar. The huge wall windows open to the serene and sunny backyard patio. The main level also has an office and full bathroom. 

Upstairs features a private rooftop patio for relaxing and your morning coffee, loft and custom built-in
cabinets, laundry area, as well as primary and secondary bedrooms each with their own en-suite bathrooms.

Located in Hollywood Hills neighborhood of Whitley Heights, my cottage-style bungalow is walking distance from Hollywood Bowl and Hollywood Blvd, and has hiking access to Hollywood Reservoir and Beachwood Canyon shops. 5mins drive to Franklin Village/East Hollywood, 10mins drive to Los Feliz and Griffith Park,  15mins drive to West Hollywood, Silverlake, and Echo Park.

Welcome to my sunny little loft in Toronto. I love this space and neighborhood with my whole heart, and I hope you have the best time staying here. 

THE LOFT

The loft is split over 3 levels (with 6 stairs between each level).

You enter into a large foyer. There is a pull-down murphy bed here. It’s comfortable, but be aware - it has no privacy. 

You then go up to the open-concept living room and kitchen. This space features 17’ high ceilings, wall-to-wall windows, a desk for WFH use, a gas fireplace, and a few fun touches like neon lights, a piano, and a living plant wall. The kitchen has tons of counter space, a gas range, and is fully stocked for foodies to cook. 

You then go up another level to the bathroom (tub, washer/dryer ensuite) and bedroom (queen bed). 

The loft has two private balconies. Off the living room, there’s a large exterior balcony with a dining table for six and a barbecue. Off the bedroom, there’s also a small indoor balcony that serves as a home office. 

THE BUILDING 

The architecture of the building is completely unique in Toronto. The interior is a huge six-storey atrium, full of plants and fully roofed with a gorgeous skylight. Many of the units (like mine) have balconies looking into the atrium, which creates a very interesting communal atmosphere. It’s kind of like working in a tropical greenhouse or at a coffee shop where you can wave to your neighbours. 

In addition, there is an outdoor roof space composed of two areas: a communal space with picnic tables and barbecues (and a view of the CN tower), and there’s a tiny private area that’s all yours (with a comfy couch, fairy lights, a wine chiller, and a flower garden with a cherry tree). Perfect for a roof drink watching the sun set over High Park. 

THE NEIGHBORHOOD 

The neighborhood is the best part. The loft is located in the Roncesvalles Village area  of downtown Toronto (affectionately called “Roncy”). It's super safe, and filled with local shops, restaurants, patios, and galleries. You can walk to everything, including grocery stores, wine shops, bakeries, and flower shops. There’s even an independent cinema, called The Revue, across the street.

The neighbourhood is mostly 30-something professionals, young families, and retirees. It’s relatively quiet (for Toronto!) - bustling during the day, but not a party area at night.

There are a lot of transit options: the subway, 3 major streetcar lines, and the UP Express to the airport. Also ride-share and bike-share options.

The loft is a 15 minute walk to High Park, which features 400 acres of park land, off-leash dog hikes, bike paths, tennis courts, a pool, an amphitheatre, nature centre, and even a small petting zoo. It is also less than 10 minutes from Sorauren Park, with another fully fenced dog park and a weekly farmer's market.

What I Love About My Home

There’s so much to enjoy here. The living room is an ideal gathering spot, with a super-comfortable oversized couch and a massive 75” TV that’s perfect for family movie nights or unwinding after a day exploring the city. This space is truly made for everyone—whether you’re curling up with a book, catching up on a film, or sharing a game night.

Each bedroom is thoughtfully decorated, offering a unique sanctuary for rest. Three of the bedrooms feature private balconies, perfect for a quiet coffee in the morning or stargazing at night. My personal favorite spot is the rooftop patio lounge—there’s something so special about ending the day here, soaking in the ambiance of the neighborhood.

We’re well-prepared to host families, including those with young children, larger groups, or anyone who enjoys a little extra space and outdoor retreats. Each bedroom has a desk, plus there’s an additional desk in the common area, making this home a dream for groups with work-from-home needs. With high-speed Wi-Fi and comfortable, dedicated workspaces, it’s set up perfectly for remote workers or study sessions.

About the Neighborhood

The Junction is one of Toronto’s gems—a charming area known for its artistic vibe, historic architecture, and vibrant local businesses. You’ll find artisan shops, trendy cafes, and farm-to-table restaurants within a short walk. Local breweries, vintage boutiques, and hidden gems make this neighborhood a joy to explore.

High Park, Toronto’s largest green space, is nearby with beautiful gardens, hiking trails, and a family-friendly zoo. The Stockyards District adds even more dining and shopping options, and it’s just a quick transit ride or drive to downtown Toronto.

A Few Things to Note

This is a two-story suite with a rooftop lounge, so there are a few stairs, which may be a consideration for anyone with mobility needs. As part of a larger house, the heating and cooling are centrally managed, which maintains a comfortable temperature throughout but doesn’t allow for individual adjustments.

Our neighborhood has a lively feel, with a gentle hum of city life during the day. At night, the home is set back enough to provide a quiet, restful sleep. Paid street parking is available if you’re driving, and I’m happy to share discount codes for car sharing and rental options

Charming and cozy Old Toronto home

Our home is a labour of love. Built (likely) in 1904, this house is a typical Portuguese style Toronto home. We purchased the home, and slowly began renovating ourselves. Our two favourite rooms are the bathroom (featuring a deep standalone tub, and a rain shower!) and the library (which is a thing of Caroline’s wildest dreams).

Our backyard is cozy, and is shockingly quiet given how close we are to the main street. It’s covered in grape vines, trees, and is inspired by the secret garden.

Nestled between little Italy, little Portugal, little Ethiopia and steps away from little Korea, there’s never a dull culinary moment. We’ve also got the famous Christie Pitts park (which has a free city pool and slide in the summer!) a mere 5min walk away. With the subway across the street, you can get anywhere in the city easy and quick!

One thing to note: due to the age of the building, we have radiant heat which is not controlled in the unit. During the cold months, every 4-6 hours or so, there is some clanging that comes from the pipes that can last about 5-10 minutes. You will be provided with earplugs to help you sleep thru the night despite the noise.

I love  my place! It's open and bright, but with a cozy quality that feels great after a day of work or adventures in the city.
The amenities in the building are a great plus, especially for morning workouts in the cardio room or the pool in the summer, featuring amazing views of the city.
My place is connected to main streets (10 min-walk to King St or Yonge) but also feels away from the craziness of downtown. 
Since I'm close to the lake, it's easy to take a 15 min walk to the water taxi and go to the Islands, which I greatly recommend if it's warm.
